There are three common plastics for flower pots: PP (polypropylene), ABS and recycled material. PP is non-toxic, UV-resistant and cold-resistant, making it the mainstream choice for horticulture; ABS offers higher strength and a glossy finish for premium pots; recycled material is cheap but becomes brittle and fades, unsuitable for long-term outdoor use.
Buying tip: for outdoor pots prefer virgin PP with even wall thickness and no pungent smell; products exported to EU/US should comply with RoHS and similar requirements.
